This will be the first World Cup held in Europe since the 2006 FIFA WC held in Germany,the first ever to be held in Eastern Europe and the 11th time that it has been held in Europe.
2018 FIFA World Cup tournament will involve 32 national teams, which include 31 teams determined through Qualifying Competitions and the automatically qualified Host Team - Russia
Of the 32 teams, 20 will be making back-to-back appearances following the last tournament in 2014, including defending champions Germany
Iceland and Panama will both be making their first appearances at the 2018 FIFA WC in Russia.
A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities

Roberto Martinez can't wait to lead an outstanding Belgium side into the World Cup as they prepare to take on Panama in their opening game on Monday.
A team who sit third in the FIFA rankings and who boast what is frequently labelled a golden generation featuring the likes of Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne have come to Russia with a considerable weight of expectation on their shoulders.
They are strongly fancied to progress to the knockout phase as winners of Group G, despite being drawn alongside England, and so it would be a major upset if they slipped up in Sochi against a side making their World Cup debut.
Belgium's results under Martinez have been excellent, with last Monday's 4-1 friendly win over Costa Rica in Brussels meaning they are unbeaten in 19 matches going back almost two years, to the very start of the Spaniard's reign.

It was a historic day for Panama football, with the Central American nation making its debut in the World Cup finals.
It was a tough initiation for Panama, with Belgium cruising to a 3-0 win at Sochi.
All three goals came in the second half, with Driers Mertens scoring in the 47th minute, sending the ball arcing over Jaime Penedo after Panama struggled to clear a cross.
Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku scored in the 69th minute, converting Kevin De Bruyne's brilliant pass with a header.
Lukaku scored again in the 75th minute. Assisted by Eden Hazard, Lukaku netted the goal from the left side of the box.
Indian kid creates history during Belgium-Panama match
Rishi Tej became the first-ever Indian ball-boy in a World Cup match on Monday when Belgium took on Panama in Sochi.
The 10-year-old carried the match ball to the field before the game started between the Red Devils and the World Cup first-timers at the Fisht Stadium.
Belgium registered a convincing 3-0 win over Panama, who were making their World Cup debut in this match. Romelu Lukaku scored a brace while Dries Mertens netted once for the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, Rishi and 11-year-old Nathania John Kandathil are the two designated Official Match Ball Carriers (OMBC) for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia from India.
Before leaving for the World Cup, 10-year-old Rishi admitted that he didn't sleep well for a week. Nathania also admitted that she is "excited" but not losing sleep.
"I am so excited, you cannot measure it even. It is like I am still dreaming. In Russia, I want to live every moment. During the match, I just don't want to enjoy but analyse how they play," Rishi, who hails from Bangalore, told
