The idea of day-night Test was floated by the International Cricket
Council (ICC) in their bid to revive the longest format of the game,
which was supposedly losing to the glitz and glamour of the T20 format
of the Gentleman's game.
That dream was finally realised when Australia locked horns against their Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand in the first ever 'Pink Ball Test' at Adelaide in the third Test of the 2015 series.
On this day, two years ago, Australia created history by winning the first ever day-night Test as they defeated New Zealand by a narrow margin of three wickets on just the third day of the Test.

Batting first, the Kiwis were bundled out for 202 in just 65.2 overs, with Tom Latham being the pick of the batsmen, by scoring a half-century. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood were the pick of the Aussie bowlers, ending the innings with three wicket each.
As for the hosts, Peter Nevill and Steve Smith slammed fifties to help them take a 22-run lead in the first innings. Doug Bracewell starred for the visitors by picking up three crucial wickets.
The Kiwis couldn't get going in the second innings as well, as they were dismissed for 208. Hazlewood simply tore the visitors apart as he ended innings with scintillating figures of 6/70. While Mitchell Marsh also chipped in with a handy three-wicket haul.
Australia were set a target of 187 to win with more than two days play left in the match. However, Trent Boult gave the hosts a massive scare by picking up a five-wicket haul in the fourth innings. But it went in vain, as the Aussies eventually got over the line with three wickets to spare on the third day of the Test
