India's Children Among The Most Malnourished In The World

Indicators of child growth are internationally recognised as important indicator of overall health profile of a country. 

Recently released Global Hunger Index shows that India is among the worst in the world in ‘child wasting’, or malnutrition, affecting both growth and height. 

Data shows that 21% of children under 5 years are affected, which according to WHO’s yardstick is a severe public health issue.
