The 2017 Kyrgyzstan Presidential Election were held on Sunday Oct 15,2017
Incumbent President Almazbek Atambayevwas not allowed to run again because the constitution sets a single 6-year term for the head of state.
11 candidates registered for the race, and from this field preliminary results indicate that Sooronbay Jeenbekov of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan won more than 50% of the vote, avoiding a runoff.
Pending certification of the results on October 18,2017 Jeenbekov will be inaugurated as President of Kyrgyzstan on December 04,2017
