Hashim Amla becomes first South African to 25 ODI centuries

Hashim Amla was in sublime touch at The Oval on Saturday June 03,2017 as the South African scored his 25th century in One-Day Internationals (ODI) against Sri Lanka in their ICC Champions Trophy 2017 opener
With this century, Hashim Amla became the first South African and sixth batsman overall to hit 25 or more hundreds in ODIs. Amla took 151 innings to score 25 centuries. It is 11 innings lesser than the next fastest. India’s Virat Kohli took 162 innings to score 25th hundred.

Amla’s 115-ball knock was a perfect example of the calm and poise as the Durban-born hit his second century of 2017 with the previous one (154) also being against Sri Lanka in February. In between, during the IPL, he hit two T20 centuries playing Kings XI Punjab.
Hasim Amla is now also the leading South African batsman when it comes to most ODI centuries, moving past AB de Villiers, who has 24.
