BCCI Extends Timeline for Fresh Applications for Vacant Coach Job Friday June 23,2017

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially extended the timeline for submission of applications for the post of the head coach of the Indian cricket team, the BCCI said in a statement released on Friday evening June 23,2017

"The candidates who have applied earlier need not reapply and will be included in the final list of applicants. The last date for submission of applications is hence extended to the 9th of July, 2017," said BCCI in a statement.

candidates had applied for the job - former India opener Virender Sehwag, Afghanistan coach Lalchand Rajput, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody, former Pakistan coach Richard Pybus and former India pacer Doda Ganesh. These names were short-listed to be interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.

The race was supposed to be between these candidates but after Kumble declined to take a two-week extension and ruled himself out of the running, the BCCI has decided to call for more applications.
