Chhattisgarh remains a hot bed of trouble

The deadly strike killing 25 men of the CRPF’s 74th battalion comes a month after a dozen personnel of the 219th battalion were done to death in the same Sukma district in south Bastar region, an area considered the hotbed of Maoist violence.

In fact, fatality figures from the South Asia Terrorism Portal show Chhattisgarh has accounted for more than 40 per cent of all security force fatalities in Maoist violence since 2013.
