On Tuesday, April 4,2017 Ben & Jerry's will be giving away free scoops at stores around the world, a tradition that stretches back to 1979 and sees more than one million free cones handed out in a single day.
Participating Scoop Shops will be giving away free cones between the hours of 12 pm and 8 pm
The giveaway was launched in the early years of the brand when it was just a single store in Burlington, Vermont as a way to thank the community.
While flavors like Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey are classics, new flavors to hit the freezer include Truffle Kerfuffle, vanilla ice cream with roasted pecans, fudge flakes and salted chocolate and Frozen Flakes, made with cereal milk ice cream and crisp cereal swirls.
