Manohar Parrikar tendered his resignation as Defence Minister on Sunday March 12,2017 as he bid for the post of Chief Minister in Goa.
With his resignation, South Block was left staring at a “massive unfinished agenda” even as the government is expected to name a successor soon, sources told BusinessLine.
That Parrikar would resign was became evident on Saturday itself as it became clear that Goa was staring at a hung assembly.
To salvage the situation in the State and pave the way for the BJP, Parrikar emerged the last resort choice
