Billed as the big semifinal before the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, and a referendum on PM Narendra Modi's demonetisation drive, most of the exit polls on Thursday March 09,2017 predicted a BJP win in Uttar Pradesh, followed by the Samajwadi Party-Congress Alliance, with BSP being relegated to the third spot.
1)The CNN-News18-Gramener Projection for Uttar Pradesh suggests that the BJP will emerge as a single largest party in the state with 161 seats, followed by the SP-Congress alliance -- 147 seats -- and a BSP as a distant third with just over 80 seats.
2)NewsX-MRC Exit Poll also predicts BJP wave in Uttar Pradesh, predicts 185 seats for the saffron party. The Exit Poll says SP-Congress will win 120 seats and the BSP will end up with 90 seats. Halfway mark is 202. Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party is said to have garnered a vote share of 28%, according to Times Now VMR Exit Poll.
However, the saffron party established its dominance with a vote share of 34% in Uttar Pradesh, according to Times Now-VMR Exit Polls.
3)India News-MRC survey says the BJP will win 188 seats in UP, while the SP-Congress alliance will end up with 120 seats. The BSP is predicted to finish third with 90 seats.
4)ABP News-CSDS, on the other hand, released its results on the basis of phases in Uttar Pradesh.
In Phase 2 of UP polling, the ABP News-CSDS puts the SP-Congress ahead with 37-43 seats, while the BJP is tipped to get 15-21 seats. The BSP, it says, will get between seven and 11 seats.
ABP News-CSDS says the BJP will win 33-29 seats that went to the polls in the first phase, while the Congress-SP combine will win 20-29. The BSP, it says, will get 12-16 seats
