The movie, which revolves around the conflict between authority and activists who fight for the rights of marginalised, was already selected to seven international movie festivals including in the upcoming International Film Festival of Kerala.
Besides 'Kaadu Pookkunna Neram', Tamil movie 'Visaranai' is also among 39 films from various countries competing for nomination for the 'best foreign language cinema' in BAFTA, British cinema’s highest recognition, according to a release here today.
Renowned world movies like 'Dheepan' (France), 'Mustang' (Turkey) and 'Son of Saul' (Hungary) are among the movies competing for BAFTA nominations, it said.
Besides in the category of foreign language movies, 'Kaadu Pookkunna Neram' is also competing in seven other categories including that of the best director, actor and actress and cinematographer.
The nominations would be declared on January 10,2017 after the first phase selection, the release added.
