India's victory in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup was celebrated by the entire country. India who beat Iran 38-29 in the final in Ahmedabad won the Kabaddi World Cup title (international style), for the third time in a row.
The Iranians gave India a tough fight and were leading after the end of the first-half. It was only due to the heroics of raider Ajay Thakur that the hosts managed to stage a comeback and eventually defend their title.
Ajay Thakur infact was India's standout performer in the World Cup as he ended the tournament as the top raider with 68 points.
