A new Twitter trend #IWearHandloom is urging people to support Indian textiles, weavers and craftsmanship.
Smriti Irani, Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles, initiated the campaign when she shared a picture of herself sporting a blue handwoven sari.
Shedding light into the idea, she wrote, "Indian handlooms symbolise India's heritage & culture. Wear it to carry on our rich tradition and support 43 lakh weavers & their families"
