Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Arrest Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar and four others Monday July 04,2016

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday July 04,2016 arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar and four others over an alleged Rs 50 crore scam on award of software contracts.

The CBI has alleged that in 2007, Kumar initiated JV with ICSIL to buy software for the Delhi govt.

CBI has also alleged that in 2012, as the commissioner of trade and taxes, Kumar allegedly helped Endeavour bag a contract worth Rs 3.66 crore for development of software applications for his department.

"There are allegations that he (Kumar) favoured private companies to make their way for tendering process. Further investigation is going on," CBI spokesperson said.

CBI officials had carried out searches at Delhi secretariat last year while investigating the corruption charges against Kumar.

In 2009,Rajinder Kumar, as chairman of Delhi Transco, allegedly facilitated the award of a project worth Rs 40.16 lakh for the development of a comprehensive management system to Endeavour Systems Private Limited, without any tendering process.
