Xiaomi Launches in China an Electric Bike called Mi QiCycle at RMB 2,999 (Approx. Rs 30,000)

Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has launched an electric bike called Mi QiCycle in China at RMB 2,999 (Approx. Rs 30,000)

The electric bike has a foldable design and is compact. The company says it's small enough to fit into the boot of most of the cars

The bike is powered by a 250W 36V motor which gets the power form 20 Panasonic 18650, 2900mAh lithium-ion battery cells.

This is the same battery used by Tesla and comes with self-developed Battery Management System (BMS) that lets you go 45km on a single charge.

The bike also comes with features like GPS navigation. And when the battery runs out, the user will have to pedal hard on the Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub transmission that comes with the bike.

And when a user will use the pedal to mobilise the Mi QiCycle it will provide real-time stats such as speed, distance, power, dynamic power and calories consumed.

The bike weighs 14.5 kgs and is available in China, but no word on whether Xiaomi has plans to sell the bike outside China.
