South Korean electronics giant Samsung unveiled its new range of automatic washing machines at its 'What a Revolution' event aimed squarely at making everyday laundry a less tedious process.
The new range of front-load and top-load fully-automatic variants include ‘AddWash’ washing machines, five new models in the Crystal Range and the 'K series' that comes with a new feature called – Magic Dispenser.
Samsung says that the pain points of Indian consumers is not limited to the pre-wash to dry-out cycle but go further to finer issues like detergent residue on clothes and lint sticking to other clothes during the wash cycle.
The Magic Dispenser in the Samsung K Series top-load washing machines works with propellers which pre-mix the detergent before it goes out in the wash tub. The company says it not only tackles the detergent residue on clothes after drying but also makes sure the detergent is fully dissolved to give more lather and better cleansing.
Often there are times when one forgets to put in that last towel before the wash cycle begins. To address this, Samsung has added the ‘AddWash’ series of front-load washing machines. The ‘add door’ basically functions as a dual-door system that allows you to add laundry, detergent, or fabric softeners in the middle of the wash cycle without disrupting or restarting it.
In situations when you need to simply rinse a fabric, you can do that towards the end of the cycle. It is aimed at not only saving water but also easing the rinsing process of delicate fabrics. The AddWash Range comes with ecobubble technology and will be available in the 8 and 9 kg capacities.
Samsung’s ActivWash+ technology has been blended into the new range of top-load washing machines as part of the 'Make in India' initiative. The technology features a built-in sink on top of top-load machines allowing the user to pre-treat or hand wash clothes right in the machine without the need for an added tub or bucket. The new built-in sink feature is available in machines ranging from capacities of 6.2 kg to 11 kg.
The new range of ActivWash+ top-load washing machines further comes with Wobble Technology and Magic Filter. The Wobble Technology delivers uniform water currents to offer a thorough wash while the filter functions as a net to keep the clothes free from lint and is placed at a lower position than conventional machines.
The prices of the new washing machines start at Rs 18,590 (for 'K' series) and go up to Rs 59,990 (for AddWash models).
