Queen Elizabeth II arrived 90 years ago - and has seen the birth of penicillin, the NHS, heart transplants and 'test tube' babies

Queen Elizabeth was born in 1962, was crowned in 1953, and celebrates her official 90th birthday this weekend
Two years after she was born penicillin was invented - a drug that has saved more than 100 million lives to date
Her reign saw the NHS being formed - with politician Aneurin Bevan declaring it would help all from 'cradle to grave'
She was alive when the first 'test tube' baby, Louise Brown, was born via then-controverial IVF treatment in 1978
