1) Honda’s ace model Activa that has been ruling the segment ever since it was introduced in India back in 2000.

Available in three variants - Activa 3G,Activa-i and Activa 125 the model is available with a choice of two engines including 110cc unit used by 3G and i trims and a 125cc engine housed in the latter
.

Mated to a V-Matic transmission, power output ranges between 8.0bhp to 8.60bhp and is claimed to offer impressive fuel economy of up to 59km/l.

2)Hero Maestro Edge is one of the most selling models in Indian market that derived power from a 110.9cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine developing 8.31bhp and 8.30Nm. Built on the high rigidity under bone type frame, Maestro uses a V-matic transmission and offers top speed limit of 85km/h.

3)TVS Jupiter is aimed at male customers and gets a 109.7cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine putting out 7.9bhp and 8Nm. Just like Activa and Maestro Edge, Jupiter also uses a CVT and is claimed to return 62km/l.

4)Joining the likes of Scooty Pep Plus and Scooty Streak in TVS’ range,TVS Scooty Zest 110 is styled in tandem with its aforementioned siblings. Drawing power from 109.7cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine good for 8.0bhp and 8.7Nm, Zest claims to return around 62km/l.

The company recently introduced a special edition dubbed 'Himalayan Highs 'featuring subtle cosmetic tweaks, while mechanically it is identical to the regular version.

With features like height adjustable seat, remote flip key, guide lamp and find me lamps, Mahendra Gusto  is climbing the popularity ladder at a fast pace. Available in three variants-DX, HX and VX, Gusto gets a 109.6cc, 4-Stroke, air-cooed M-TEC engine producing 8.0bhp and 9Nm while transmission duties are performed by a CVT.

6)Yamaha Fascino

Featuring Yamaha’s “Blue Core” technology, the scooter is claimed to deliver segment best fuel economy of 66km/l.

7)2016 Suzuki Access 125

The flagship model from Suzuki played a key role in strengthening Suzuki’s grip in the highly competitive scooter segment. Launched in a new avatar recently Suzuki Access 125 has received fresh dose of cosmetic and mechanical updates.  Paired to a CVT, the new 124cc, single cylinder air-cooled engine features SEP technology and churns out 8.6bhp and 10.2 Nm
