 2016 UEFA Euro QF Draw

The Euro 2016 QF's line up is now complete after Iceland stunned England in the last round of 16 encounter. Iceland shocked England 2-1 and will now face hosts France in the QF's

Earlier on Monday, Giorgio Chiellini and Graziano Pelle scored the goals as Italy exacted revenge for their Euro 2012 final hammering by dumping Spain out of Euro 2016. Azzuri will now take on World Champions Germany.

Germany flexed its muscles on Sunday June 26,2016 as they cruised into the QF's with a comfortable 3-0 win over Slovakia.

France entered QF's on Sunday June 26,2016 after a brilliant 2-1 win over Ireland thanks to a brace from Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.

Sunday also saw Belgium decimated Hungary 4-0 in the round of 16 clash

The first QF will take place in Thursday between Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal against Robert Lewandowski's Poland. Portugal defeated Croatia 1-0 while Poland won their match against Switzerland on penalties

Euro 2016 QF Schedule

Thursday, June 30 - QF 1: Poland v Portugal
Friday, July 1 - QF 2: Wales v Belgium
Saturday, July 2 - QF 3: Germany v Italy
Sunday, July 3 - QF 4: France v Iceland

QF Match Results

QF 1 Portugal beat Poland 5-3 on penalties after 1-1 in regular time

Italy got the better off defending champions Spain 2-0 in Paris before Iceland embarrassed Roy Hodgson's England in Nice with a 2-1 win. After wins for Poland, Wales and Portugal on Saturday, and victories for France, Germany and Belgium on Monday - the quarter-final line-up is now complete.

QF 2 Wales Vs Belgium Friday July 01,2016

Kevin De Bruyne wants Belgium's Euro 2016 QF clash on Friday July 01,2016 with Wales to be like a home game, the Lille stadium is just 100 kilometres from the Belgian border.

A huge wave of Belgians is expected to cross the frontier to invade the French city to watch their country take on opponents that De Bruyne called "a technically and defensively astute side."

Belgium are on a high after their 4-0 rout of Hungary on Sunday June 26,2016 that saw Chelsea forward Eden Hazard produce an inspirational display as captain

The one-sided performance against Hungary in Toulouse has encouraged Belgian hopes that they can emulate their 1980 feat of reaching the final, when they lost to West Germany.

Belgium, who played Wales both in the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 qualifying, failed to win any of their last three meetings

Wales also held Belgium twice in Brussels and won 1-0 in Cardiff just over a year ago when Gareth Bale's winner all but booked their place at the European Championship finals.

QF 2 Wales Vs Belgium - Match Facts

Head-to-head
  • Belgium have won five of the 12 previous meetings, with four victories for Wales and three draws.
  • The Belgians failed to score against the Welsh in Euro 2016 qualifying, drawing 0-0 in Brussels and losing 1-0 in Cardiff to a goal from Gareth Bale.
  • This is the first time these teams have met in the finals of a major tournament.
Wales
  • The Welsh have not reached the semi-finals of a major tournament before. This is their best finals performance since reaching the quarter-finals at the 1958 World Cup, when they lost 1-0 to Brazil.
  • Wales have trailed for only two minutes and 31 seconds (including injury time) in their four games at Euro 2016.
  • The three goals Wales have conceded at Euro 2016 have all come from the 56th minute onwards - and have all been scored by substitutes.
  • Wales had just one shot on target in their last game against Northern Ireland - a free-kick by Gareth Bale.
  • Aaron Ramsey has scored or assisted three of the last five goals netted by Welsh players (excluding the own goal scored by Northern Ireland's Gareth McAuley).
  • Wales have kept two consecutive clean sheets for the first time at a major tournament.
Belgium
  • The Belgians last reached the semi-finals of a major tournament at the 1986 World Cup, when they eventually finished fourth.
  • Seven of Belgium's eight goals at Euro 2016 have been scored after half-time, including six in the last half hour.
  • Kevin de Bruyne has been directly involved in 12 goals in his last 12 games with Belgium (five goals, seven assists).
  • They have not conceded in their last three games - their longest run of clean sheets at a major tournament.
  • Eden Hazard has assisted three goals at Euro 2016 - matching his tally in the Premier League for Chelsea in 2015-16.
  • Hazard completed 12 dribbles against Hungary, the most in a European Championship game since 1980.
QF 2 Wales Vs Belgium - Wales beat Belgium 3-1 and enter the SF's

Goals from Ashley Williams (middle inset), Hal Robson-Kanu (pictured left) and Sam Vokes (top right inset) gave Wales a famous win in Lille, seeing them into the next round of the tournament where they are the only remaining British side following England, Ireland and Northern Ireland's exit at the round of 16 stage. Robson-Kanu, who hasn't even got a club side after being let go by Reading this summer, along with Burnley's Vokes have put England's pampered Premier League players to shame by firing their country of three million into the semi-finals of the tournament.

Wales manager Chris Coleman had described the last-eight tie as Wales' biggest match since their 1958 World Cup quarter-final defeat by Brazil, their only previous appearance in the knockout stages of a major tournament

Wales reached the SF's of a major tournament for the first time after a stirring fightback to beat Belgium in the European Championship quarter-final in Lille.

Wales will face Portugal in the first semi-final next Wednesday following their stunning 3-1 success against Belgium in the last eight on Friday. Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal beat Poland on penalties in their  QF

Radja Nainggolan put Belgium ahead with a thunderous 25-yard strike but Wales captain Ashley Williams headed in from a corner to equalise in a breathless first half littered with chances at both ends.
Welsh celebrations reached stratospheric levels when Hal Robson-Kanu, a striker without a club, gave them the lead with a divine turn and finish.

After withstanding late Belgium pressure, Wales sealed victory through a header from substitute Sam Vokes that set up a semi-final against Portugal and a mouth-watering duel between Real Madrid team-mates Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Absent from major tournaments for 58 years, Wales have not only ended a barren half a century but propelled Welsh football into unchartered territory.

Previous Welsh sides have claimed iconic results, such as a 2-1 win over Hungary at the 1958 World Cup, a 1991 victory against then world champions Germany and a qualifying triumph against Italy in 2002.

  • Wales have become the first team to reach the semi-final on their European Championship debut since Sweden in 1992.
  • The Dragons have scored 10 goals at Euro 2016, only once has a British team scored more at a major tournament (England, 11 in World Cup 1966).
  • Sam Vokes scored his first goal in 12 games for Wales, since netting against Iceland in March 2014.
  • Both Eden Hazard and Aaron Ramsey have four assists at Euro 2016, the joint most by a player in a single tournament since 1980.
