Incidents of Forest Fires Reported in India in 2015 and first 4 months of 2016

Because of the dry conditions, the first four months of 2016 have already witnessed a far higher incidence of forest fire than in the past four years and a third more than last year.

Chhattisgarh, followed by Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, has reported the most fires.

However, forests have always been susceptible to blazes in the first half of the year prior to the monsoon rains and the winter season that follows.
