2016 ICC World Twenty 20 England Vs West Indies @ Wankhede Stadium Mumbai Wednesday March 16,2016 - Chris Gayle Does It Again

At the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Wednesday, Gayle scored a century off just 48 balls, decorated with 11 sixes and five boundaries, and made England’s decent total of 182 for 6 look dwarf, and take West Indies home with 11 balls to spare.

It was Chris Gayle's second career T20I century with the last coming in 2007 World T20 against Australia. Gayle also became the first man in history to score two tons in World T20

Chris Gayle's  11 sixes during the knock also helped him surpass New Zealander Bredndon McCullum’s record of maximum sixes (91) sixes in T20Is.

Chris Gayle reached his 50 in 27 balls and just took another 21 balls to complete the next 50 runs

At 36, Chris Gayle has the exuberance of a youth and the West Indian is the ‘most wanted’ player when it comes to garner the attention of the T20 leagues around the world

In his post-match TV interview after Wednesday's innings, he said his "fantastic" innings was designed to impress his drinking buddy Sulieman Benn.
"Before I went out Sulieman Benn said you're going to 'entertain me'," said a beaming Gayle after hitting the third fastest international T20 century.
"I wanted to entertain my team-mate -- he's my drinking partner as well."

For the record, Chris Gayle has scored T20 hundreds in India, the West Indies, Australia, England, South Africa, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, turning up for as many as 18 teams.

Chris Gayle's tally of 8,826 runs in 239 Twenty20 matches is a whopping 1,828 more than second-placed Brad Hodge.

Chris Gayle's  average is a stellar 43 and his strike-rate a brilliant 150. He has smashed 637 sixes, a cool 249 more than Kieron Pollard, and only 36 fewer than the combined total of Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh.

By his own admission, Gayle did what he did to England because his drinking partner, the burly left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn, demanded that he be entertained. So much for friendship!
