Kumbakonam Mahamaham Festival Monday February 22,2016

More than 10 lakh devotees will take a holy dip at the temple tank at Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu as part of the grand finale of the Mahamaham Festival celebrated once in twelve years.

The auspicious time for the dip which is called 'Theerthavari' will between 12 noon and 1 pm on Monday February 22,2016

Twenty five thousand police personnel are on duty and four hundred CCTV cameras would keep watch. A fleet of ambulances and first responder bikes are ready to take care of any emergencies.

Two thousand sanitary workers have also  been deployed to ensure there's no health crisis.
