Hit by a serious water crisis due to Jat reservation protests in
neighbouring Haryana, Delhi government today said that all schools and
government offices will remain closed tomorrow Monday February 22,2016
"All schools will be closed tomorrow, both government and private. The exams and admission process have also been postponed due to the water crisis", said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Delhi government has moved the Supreme Court on Saturday night February 20,2016, seeking a direction to the Centre to intervene and ensure water supply to the national capital from Munak Canal in neighbouring Haryana which has been affected due to the Jat agitation.
Earlier, Delhi government's senior standing counsel Rahul Mehra said a petition is being moved before the top court, seeking an urgent hearing on the issue and a plea is being made that the Centre should deploy army to ensure supply of water from Munak Canal.
