Microsoft has launched a free selfie app that has been designed to improve users' appearances.
Similar to the "beauty" option on Xiaomi smartphones, Microsoft Selfie is a new app that automatically perfects lighting and smooths any facial imperfections without distorting the image
Factors such as age, gender and skin tone are all taken into account. Users can choose how strongly they want to 'improve' the image by using an on-screen slider.
"Users can transform average photos into more presentable portraits in seconds. Key features of this application are noise reduction, intelligent enhancement, automatic exposure and color theme," says Microsoft
