Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Starts Providing Free WIFI at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate metro stations in Delhi

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has finally started providing free WiFi services at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate metro stations in Delhi.

Named Metro-Fi, the new service lets passengers access internet services free of cost for a total duration of 30 minutes in a day.
"Further browsing beyond 30 minutes through WiFi will be as per applicable charges by the service provider," said DMRC

The WiFi services at these two stations are provided as part of an MOU Signed by DMRC with the Rail Tel Corporation of India in May 2015
 
Initially, five stations were identified for the setting up of these services. The other three stations where WiFi facility will be available soon are Vishwavidyalaya, Central Secretariat and Hauz Khas


A step-by-step guide that explains how you can avail free WiFi services at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate metro stations

1. As soon as a passenger enters the paid area (platform/concourse area) of these stations, he can can connect to the available WiFi network named Metro-Fi.
2. Once this network is selected, the web page of Metro-Fi will appear on the user's device and it will ask him to register using his mobile number.
3. As soon as the mobile number is entered, the user will get an SMS with login credentials.
4. After receiving the credentials, the user needs to go back to the web page, select "Already Registered", and enter the password in the desired filed.
5. The user will then be connected to the network and free WiFi services will be available for 30 minutes.
6. In case the user wants to use the network beyond 30 minutes, he can again select the Metro-Fi network and can pay for usage using PayTM.
