BSF plane crash in New Delhi Tuesday Dec 22,2015

  • A Beech SuperKing B200 aircraft has crashed, killing 10 Border Security Force men
  • The plane's left engine failed a few seconds after take-off
  • It hit a tree, then the wall of the airport sewage treatment plant as the pilot struggled to avoid more casualties
  • Doctors at AIIMS surgically reconstructed the bodies of those killed in a gesture of respect

  • In 60 seconds, the lives of 10 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel ended in a massive fireball
Investigators look at the remains of the crashed BSF jet, which claimed the lives of 10 men
The very moment the Beech SuperKing B200 aircraft took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport’s runway 28 at 9.40am, pilot Captain Bhagwati Prasad realised that there was a problem with one of the engines.

Initial reports into the crash suggest that a technical problem forced the aircraft to make a 180-degree u-turn
But before he or his co-pilot could react, the left engine stopped working. With only the right one functioning, the craft was forced into a 180-degree swerve and crashed into a tree near the airport boundary wall. It then ploughed through the wall of the airport sewage treatment facilities and broke into two.
