2015 Bihar Assembly Elections Results -How Many Seats For Each Party Sunday Nov 08,2015

Nitish Kumar will be Bihar chief minister for a third straight term, with the state handing the Grand Alliance that he leads a big win in the assembly elections.

Grand Alliance had won 178 seats, with the BJP camp trailing at only 59 - BJP 53 seats;LJP 3 seats;RLSP 2 seats and HAM 1 seat

Independents had won 4 seats and CPIML had won 2 seats

RJD and JD(U)which contested 101 seats each had won 80 and 71 seats respectively
Indian National Congress which contested 41 seats had won 27 seats

Mahagatbandhan (JDU+RJD+INC) won 178 out of 243 assembly seats and its 3 out of every 4 seats victory suggests a clean sweep and an overwhelming voters support in the state. BJP and its allies LJP, RLSP and HAM won 58 seats out of remaining 65 to make the much hyped contest one-sided and provide an interpretation of thumbs down for Modi in referendum

RJD and Congress had fought 2014 Loksabha elections together and BJP, LJP and RLSP contested under NDA banner, while JDU contested independently. Table 1 provides the data of individual votes secured, % of total valid votes, % of seats won by each party in 2014 and 2015 elections
