Indian Railway Employees to get Productivity-linked Bonus Wednesday Oct 07,2015

Ahead of the festive season, the NDA Government Wednesday Oct 07,2015 cleared a proposal to give productivity-linked bonus to about 12 lakh railway employees.

The Union Cabinetchaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved payment of productivity-linked bonus equivalent to 78 days of wages for Indian Railways' 1.258 million non-gazetted employees for the financial year 2014-15.
"Highest productivity-linked bonus amount of 78 days' wages was paid for the financial years 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14. This year also bonus equivalent to 78 days' wages will be paid considering the good financial performance which is expected to motivate employees for working towards improving the same in future," the government said in an official statement.
It added the financial implication of the payment of the bonus has been estimated at Rs 1,030 crore. The government has prescribed a ceiling of Rs 3,500 per month on wage calculation for the payment of the bonus. "The maximum amount payable per eligible railwayemployee is Rs 8,975 for 78 days," the statement said


The productivity-linked bonus on railway covers all the non-gazetted employees, excluding the personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), spread across the 17 railway zones in the country.
