How do you know that you are overweight or obese?

WHO global estimates state that in the year 2014 1.9 billion adults worldwide were Overweight and of these 600 million were Obese

 Overall, about 13% of the world’s adult population (11% of men and 15% of women) were obese in 2014. The worldwide prevalence of obesity more than doubled between 1980 and 2014. Not just adults, in 2013, 42 million children under the age of 5 were overweight or obese.

Over weight is defined as “a Body Mass Index(BMI) greater than or equal to 25” & Obesity as “a BMI greater than and equal to 30”.  BMI is body mass index, an index commonly used for classification of obesity. WHO defines it “as a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of his height in meters (kg/m2)”.
