Xiaomi launches its first made-in-India smartphone at Rs 6,999; 4G, 4.7-inch HD display Monday Aug 10,2015

 

Xiaomi has launched its first ever made in India smartphone, the Redmi 2 Prime, on Monday Aug 10,2015 in Visakhapatnam.As part of its India expansion plans, the Redmi 2 Prime is the first smartphone to be manufactured in the country by Xiaomi

The Redmi 2 Prime comes with a 4.7-inch IPS HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 410 64-bit chipset combined with 2GB RAM. It comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The 4G dual-SIM budget smartphone comes with 16 GB internal storage and has been priced at Rs 6,999.

Present at the event, state Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, "Its a pride to have Xiaomi set up the manufacturing unit here in India."
