Travel website Lonely Planet has revealed the places that every traveller should visit


 In all,a team of travel experts and authors drew up a list of 500 of the world's best places to visit, with the Cambodian temple taking the top spot because it's the 'perfect harmony of creative ambition and spiritual devotion

The list was compiled by travel experts and writers who rated the world's best sights to create a list of 500 in total
 
Natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon and Iguazu Falls featured in the top ten destinations to visit

The Temples of Angkor, the Great Barrier Reef and Machu Picchu have been named as the top-three global must-see spots, according to exploration experts
 
Closely following behind was the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The 2,300km-long ecosystem features thousands of colourful reefs and exotic marine life 
For those travelling to Peru, you should not miss out on a trip to the Machu Picchu ruins, which came third in the list

In Lonely Planet's Ultimate Travel list, the next three places were taken up by the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal and the Grand Canyon National Park, with a range of other Unesco World Heritage Sites 
following closely behind.
The white marble Taj Mahal, a Unesco-protected site, was given the accolade of fourth place in the ultimate travel list 
Arizona’s Grand Canyon is a picturesque formation with sweeping vistas across 277 miles of rocks, and is well-deserving of its place in the top ten destinations
