A three-year-old girl has become the youngest donor in the state.
Anjana, a three year old from Thiruvananthapuram, who was admitted to
SAT Hospital since Thursday July 30,2015 was declared brain dead on Saturday night August 01,2015,
donated her liver, two kidneys and corneas.
The organs - liver and kidneys - were given to a five year old boy admitted to Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram. The harvesting of the organs began at 11 pm on Saturday and it was completed during the wee hours of Sunday August 02,2015
The organs were sent to KIMS hospital at 2.30 am on Sunday where the surgery began on the five-year-old boy. At the time of the filing of this report the surgery is going on at the KIMS hospital to transplant the organs. The doctors said that the condition of the boy could be said only by evening
