 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday Aug 16,2015 began his two-day trip to this strategic Gulf nation with a visit to the historic Sheikh Zayed Grand mosque, the world's third largest.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi toured Masdar in Abu Dhabi, a zero carbon smart city.

The highlight of the PM's tour was a demo ride in a self-driving car, part of Masdar city's Private Rapid Transit or PRT. The car runs on lithium batteries powered by solar energy and uses a virtual software to guide its journey



An enthusiastic crowd of Indians gathered in Masdar to watch the PM's ride; PM Modi was seen waving at the crowd.

UAE Allots Land for Building First Temple in Abu Dhabi

The UAE today decided to allot land for building a temple in Abu Dhabi, the first in the Emirati capital as Prime Minister Narendra Modi today began his two-day visit to the strategic Gulf nation.

PM Modi thanked the UAE leadership for this "landmark" decision.

While there are two temples in Dubai, one of Lord Shiva and another of Krishna, there is none in Abu Dhabi.
