The Palestine Liberation Organization(PLO) has said it holds Israel's government "fully responsible" for the death of an 18-month-old baby in an arson attack in the occupied West Bank and will lodge a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The death of the baby boy on Friday Morning July 31,2015 was roundly condemned around the world, including by Israeli leaders, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ringing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and saying they must fight "terrorism" together

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he had ordered his foreign minister to file a complaint at the International Criminal Court in The Hague

The Hamas government in Gaza has also condemned the latest incident, and called for "a day of fury in response to the relentless Zionist assaults on Jerusalem and the murder of toddler Ali in Nablus".

The US state department condemned the "vicious terrorist attack" in "the strongest possible terms", urging Israel to "apprehend the murderers" and calling on both sides to "avoid escalating tensions"

According to the UN, there had been at least 120 attacks by Israeli settlers since the beginning of 2015

The Incident on Friday July 31,2015
The slumbering Dawabsheh family never stood a chance when a pair of arsonists crept into their home in a village in the West Bank in the early hours of Friday July 31,2015

A smashed window, a flaming molotov cocktail, a whoosh of fire and piercing screams followed.

Within minutes, the parents had crawled from the house with life-threatening third degree burns covering most of their bodies.

Inside, four-year-old Ahmad was shrieking in fear and pain; his infant brother, Ali, just 18 months old, was dead or dying, his body burned beyond recognition

The family’s home in Duma, near the Palestinian city of Nablus, was left blackened with soot and coated in ash, although graffiti left by the arsonists was still visible: “revenge”, “price tag” and “long live the Messiah” were scrawled in Hebrew letters
