2015 Wimbledon Women's Doubles Final Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis lifted the Wimbledon women's doubles trophy Saturday July 11,2015

Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza pose with their trophies after winning their Women's Doubles Final match.
The top seeded pair made a remarkable comeback to beat Russian second seeds Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 5-7, 7-6(4), 7-5 in two hours and 25 minutes

This was also the Sania Mirza's maiden final at the All England Club across all senior formats though she had won the girls' doubles title here 12 years ago with Russia's Alisa Kleybanova.

Martina Hingis, on the other hand, has two women's doubles (1996, 1998) and one singles title (1997) to her credit that she won at the lone grass court Major. Saturday's trophy comes after a long gap of 17 years

Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis said sheer belief pulled them through as they lifted the Wimbledon women's doubles trophy.

Sania Mirza , the first Indian women to clinch the title, and Hingis were seeded top but were pushed to the brink by second-seeded Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina before prevailing 5-7, 7-6 (4), 7-5 in a thrilling final at the Centre Court on Saturday. "To come out here at Wimbledon, this is something we dream of as kids," said Sania

Note
Sania had become India's first woman player to win a Grand Slam when she won the Australian Open with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi in 2009. She later added French Open [2012 with Bhupathi] and US Open [2014 with Bruno Soares] to her mixed doubles collection.
