It has been 14 years for Australia to have won a test series in England

Australia have had a great 2015 so far.

A tri series (Australia,England and India)win at home was followed by a World Cup win. Then the Kangaroos simply massacred the West Indians in the Caribbean.

Shane Watson has been dropped from the Australia team for the second Ashes Test against England at Lord's scheduled to be played from July 16-20,2015 and will be replaced by fellow all-rounder Mitchell Marsh

Shane Watson`s place in the side for the Lord`s test, which starts on Thursday, was called into question after he was twice dismissed lbw after scoring a total of 49 runs and failing to take a wicket in the first test in Cardiff July 08-11,2015

Also Brad Haddin asked to be omitted from the second test for personal reasons. He will be replaced by debutant Peter Nevill.

Brad Haddin, who was playing in his 66th Test match, made scores of 22 and 7 at Cardiff but also dropped Joe Root on 0 before he went on to make 134 in the first innings of England's 169 Runs win at the first test match at Cardiff
Peter Nevill(29)has not represented Australia in a Test match, one-day international or T20 game but did play in their 169-run warm-up victory against Essex earlier this month

Australia, who are bidding for a first Ashes series win in England since 2001, also have concerns over the fitness of Mitchell Starc with Peter Siddle on stand-by in case the left-arm quick is unable to play because of an ankle strain.

England head into the second Test at Lord's on Thursday July 16,2015 on the back of an impressive 169 Runs win at the first test match at Cardiff  July 08-11,2015

Michael
Clarke's men go into the second Test at Lord's on Thursday 1-0 down in the five-match Ashes series after England's convincing 169-run win in Cardiff last week.
The last time Australia won the Ashes after losing was 18 years ago in England when Mark Taylor's side suffered a nine-wicket loss at Edgbaston, but recovered with a rain-affected draw at Lord's before winning the six-Test series 3-2.

and surpassed the  previous record was 231 Runs, between Don Bradman and Bill Woodfull  Vs England  in the 2nd Test @ Lord's in 1930

The last time England only took one wicket in a full day of an Ashes Test was the second day at Headingley in 1993, when Australia went from 307-3 to 613-4

This is only the second time only one wicket has fallen on the opening day of a Lord's Test, after England made 334-1 against India in 1974

Not since Geoff Marsh (125 not out) and Mark Taylor (141 not out) took their side to 301 without loss against England on the first day of the fifth Test at Trent Bridge in 1989 had Australia produced such a commanding display with the bat on the opening day of an Ashes match

Alastair Cook becomes the 1st batsman to get out in the 90's thrice at Lord's

England skipper Alastair Cook on Saturday July 18,2015 created a dubious record for getting out most times in the nervous nineties at the Lord's. He was bowled by Mitchell Marsh at 96

Alastair Cook was looking in fine form to hit his first Ashes hundred in 22 innings and reach 28th Test hundred. But the southpaw failed to show the full face of the bat and ended up dragging the ball onto his stumps, giving Marsh second wicket of the match

It was the third instance Cook has gotten out in the 90's at the 'home of cricket'.

Overall, Alastair Cook has been dismissed on the nineties for seven times, a record for English players. Geoffrey Boycott is second with five

Besides, Alastair Cook is also the only other batsman apart from Virender Sehwag to have been dismissed at least once in 90s, 190s and 290s

Number of Test dismissals in the 90s

10: S Tendulkar (Ind) (329 innings)
9: R Dravid (Ind) (286 inns); M Slater (Aus) (131 inns)
8: AB de Villiers (SA) (162 inns); S Waugh (Aus) (260 inns)
7: M Hayden (Aus) (184 inns); A Kallicharran (WI) (109 inns); A Cook (Eng) (207 inns)
After Alastair Cook's fall, Australia soon folded the England innings at 312 runs in 90.1 overs to gain a first innings lead of 254 runs. Despite the healthy lead, Aussies skipper Michael Clarke opted to bat again.

The last time Australia had enforced the follow-on in an Ashes Test was at Melbourne in 2002, which they won by five wickets. Australia are trailing the current series 0-1 after losing the opener at Cardiff, by 169 runs.

The last visiting team to enforce the follow-on at the Lord's was Sri Lanka in a drawn match in 2002.

The Australians celebrate as they head off the pitch at Lord's having won the second Test of the Ashes by 405 runs against England

The tourists walk around the Lord's pitch to offer their thanks to their fans who have enjoyed a fantastic few days in terms of performance

Australia dealt England a humiliating Ashes defeat at Lord's on Sunday, winning by 405 runs to level the five-match series 1-1

First, Australia batted and amassed 566-8 declared thanks to major innings from Chris Rogers and a double century from Steve Smith, and then bowled England out for 312

The tourists declared just before lunch on Sunday after a quickfire 254-2 in their second innings to set England a massive 509 runs to win.

It was clear England would struggle, but the team collapsed in ignominious fashion to 103 all out as Australia's rampant bowling attack exposed serious flaws in England's batting.

With Starc, Johnson, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Marsh bowling hostile short-pitched sessions, England's batsmen looked scared and wickets tumbled.
