Queen's official Birthday Parade

The Queen sits on the chair designed for her to use at the Birthday Parade, flanked by representatives of the seven regiments of the Household Division, of which she is Colonel-in-Chief, and the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, of which she is Captain General. All carry standards except the King’s Troop (second right) because the Royal Artillery have no colours but instead honour their guns

It is the state’s birthday party for the Queen, hence its official title – the Birthday Parade. And this year’s event takes place live on BBC1 next Saturday morning June 06,2015

Now, for the first time, the mind-boggling details and charming secrets of this extraordinary display are captured in a magnificent new book which includes a contribution from Prince Philip and hundreds of superb photographs – including several of the Queen

The Queen has a very special piece of jewellery for her Birthday Parade – the Brigade of Guards Brooch. Created for Queen Mary, it features the badges of the five regiments of the Foot Guards.
Below the badge of the Grenadier Guards is the badge of the Welsh Guards, flanked on the left by the Scots Guards and on the right by the Irish Guards.
The badge of the Coldstream Guards is at the bottom. The motto, ‘Quinque Juncta in Uno’ (‘Five Joined in One’), defines the unity of the brigade.
