A Record-Breaking Series

  • England have passed 300 runs in 4 successive ODI's(408, 365, 302 and 350)
  • England's previous highest aggregate number of runs scored in a five-match series was 1,399. They already have 1,425 with a game to spare.
  • They have scored the runs at their highest rate ever at 7.68 runs an over. The next highest was 6.19 against India in 2011.
  • The 699 runs scored between the sides in the fourth game at Nottingham was the most scored in an ODI in England.
  • Three of the top five ODI totals by England have been scored in this series.
  • In the last game, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan's 198 was England's second highest ODI stand for the third wicket, behind Neil Fairbrother and Graeme Hick's 213 versus West Indies in 1991. It was also their highest ODI stand against New Zealand for any wicket. 
  • Leading Run-Scorers  - For NZ Kane Williamson, who has 346 runs, and Ross Taylor, who has hit two centuries in his 328 and For England, captain Eoin Morgan, who hit a century in England's win at Nottingham, leads the way with 322 runs. while Joe Root has two centuries in his 270 runs.

  • There was also a memorable moment for New Zealand debutant Andrew Mathieson, who has played just 19 first-class matches and has been representing Sidmouth in the Devon League, when he had Jason Roy caught with his first ball in international cricket.
