'India is With Nepal in This Hour of Grief,' says PM Narendra Modi in 'Mann ki Baat': Highlights 

Highlights of what he has said:
  • I did not have the heart to speak my mind today. (Aaj mann ki baat karne ka mann nahi kar raha tha)
  • We share the grief of our Nepali brethren.
  • Nepal's pain is India's pain.
  • I can easily imagine the horror of earthquakes.
  • I have witnessed from close quarters the destruction of the 2001 earthquake in Kachchh.
  • The first and most important task to bring out alive all those stuck under the rubble.
  • We will spare no efforts to save the lives of as many people as possible.
  • For many people of our country, Nepalis are our own people.
  • We will endeavour to wipe the tears of every Nepali.
  • 'Service is the primary duty' (Seva Paramo Dharma). This is India's role in the world.
  • I had, during my recent vision to France, visited the memorial for Indian soldiers who died in World War I. I bow hy head to them.
  • We are observing the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. There have been issues over land for his memorial in Mumbai.
  • I am happy to tell you today that the Centre has decided to allocate the land for the set up the memorial.
  • Dr Ambedkar used to keep saying that in our villages, towns and cities, not a single boy or girl should be illiterate.
  • I would also like to share a happy moment with you.
  • I would like to congratulate two our country's daughters - Saina Nehwal and Sania Mirza.
  • They have done us proud on the world stage.
  • Students would be looking forward to enjoying vacations. I wish them for the same. Do enjoy yourselves and learn new things.
