JKLF calls for bandh to protest against separate township for Kashmiri Pandits Saturday April 11,2015

Activists of separatist Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has called for a Kashmir bandh on Saturday April 11,2015 over the issue of a separate township for Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

The call is supported by other separatists like SAS Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, "No Kashmiri, no matter, of what political ideology is against the settling of the Kashmiri Pandits. Why we are against a composite township is because it will definitely create a sense of alienation. There is so much land available in those areas like the custodian land and other land, let the government give away those lands at cheaper price to the Kashmiri Pandits."

The activists on Friday took to the streets shouting slogans over the issue of setting up of an exclusive township for migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley

Note

Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has clarified in the state Legislative Assembly that there were no plans of setting up separate township for the Kashmiri Pandits but steps will be taken for the return of the minority community to the Valley.
