The NDA Government and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) have begun preliminary talks to bring the event to India and the initial response from both ends has been positive
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reportedly keen that India hosts the 2024 edition of the Olympics. He is expected to discuss the possibility of the country bidding for the biggest sporting event of the world with International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach when the German visits New Delhi later this month
The last date for submitting application is in October, 2015 while the IOC will shortlist possible host cities by May, 2016. The host city will be officially named in July 2017.
