Gajendra Singh committed suicide at AAP rally in Delhi Wednesday April 22,2015

 
Gajendra Singh, who committed suicide at the Aam Aadmi Party rally in Delhi was a resident of Dausa in Rajasthan. While there are reports that Singh was a farmer, he was not just a farmer but he was also an active social and political worker. He has even fought Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha elections in the past.
Since his younger days, he was actively involved with his uncle Gopal Singh Nangal in politics. Nangal has been a village head and a sarpanch.
Gajendra Singh began his political career with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He took part in local events of the party and had even wanted to fight elections for the BJP. In 2003, when Singh did not manage to get a ticket from the BJP, he joined the Samajwadi Party

Gajendra Singh fought elections in 2003 but faced defeat at the hands of BJP's Alka Singh. Despite his loss, he continued to remain in politics and was a member of the SP till 2013. During this period, he took became a district president as well as became a member of the state working committee
In 2013, in a hope to get a ticket to contest Vidhan Sabha polls again, Singh switched to Congress. But when he did not get any positive response, he joined the AAP.

Gajendra Singh had a business of turbans. He has tied turbans on the heads of several Indian and foreign dignitories in the past. These include former US president Bill Clinton, Nepal president Parmanand, BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Murli Manohar Joshi and several others.
