2015 Maharashtra Assembly Bypoll Results Wednesday April 15,2015

  In the Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahankal assembly seat bypoll of Maharashtra's Sangli district NCP nominee Suman Patil, the widow of NCP stalwart late R R Patil comfortably defeated her nearest rival Swapnil Patil, a BJP rebel and independent candidate, by winning over 1.12 lakh votes shortly after the counting began on Wednesday April 15,2015

In the bypoll to Bandra (East) Assembly seat bypoll former Chief Minister Narayan Rane was trailing  against Shiv Sena candidate Trupti Sawant, who has established a comfortable lead.Shiv Sena candidate Sawant, the widow of former MLA Bala Sawant whose death necessitated the bypoll in Bandra(E) seat, has so far polled 45,123 votes as compared to 28,433 votes polled by Rane

The Sena on Wednesday successfully retained its bastion, the Bandra (East) Assembly seat, by defeating former Maharashtra chief minister Rane, who was virtually an “outsider” to the Mumbai seat. 
Sawant, who won the prestigious bypoll, bagged 52,711 votes while Rane, who emerged second, got 33,703 votes

A total of 10 candidates were in the fray in Bandra (East) and 9 in Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahankal constituency

The bypoll for the two seats in Maharashtra was held on April 11,2015
