Kumar Sangakkara surpassed 6 players who had scored 3 ODI centuries in a row.They were -
Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan
the South African trio of Herschelle Gibbs, AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock, and
Ross Taylor of New Zealand

Kumar Sangakkara also became the first batsman to score four hundreds in a single edition of a World Cup. Previously, Australians Mark Waugh and Matthew Hayden along with India's Sourav Ganguly held the record with three against their name

Kumar Sangakkaras tally of 25 ODI hundreds is exceeded only by three batsmen -- Sachin Tendulkar (49), Ricky Ponting (30) and Sanath Jayasuriya(28)
