Australia captain Michael Clarke has been passed fit to lead the side into the first test against India at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday Dec 09,2014

Michael Clarke had been struggling physically with a hamstring injury and emotionally in the aftermath of friend and former team mate Phillip Hughes's death, which caused the opening test to be postponed and moved from Brisbane.
But Clarke has been named in the side. And, as a tribute to their former team-mate, Phillip Hughes has been named as the 13th man

India's first experience on the Australian soil came when the Lala Amarnath-led India faced Don Bradman's Australia at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. India began the tour on an awful note as they were trounced by an innings and 226 runs

Bishen Singh Bedi captained India to their first ever Test win on Australian soil in 1977-78. After losing the first two Tests of the five-match series, India went on to win the third and fourth match thanks to the incredible left-arm spin bowling by skipper Bedi and Bhagwath Chandrasekhar, who bagged 31 and 28 wickets, respectively, in the series. But India lost the final game to concede the series 2-3.

Rain stopped play on day two of the first Test with the Aussies having reached 405/6 in 101.4 Overs with captain Michael Clarke 85* and Steven Smith on 98*
Rain ensured only 11.4 overs could be bowled before players went off 
Australia reached 473-6 before rain interrupted play with Michael Clarke 109* and Steven Smith 142* at the crease
On a rain-curtailed day, Michael Clarke scored a fine 128 while Steven Smith finished with an unbeaten 162 to put Australia in command. The hosts ended Day 2 of the first Test at 517/7

Day 4 Friday Dec 12,2014
David Warner scored his second century of the match as Australia set the platform for a final-day push for victory in the first Test against India in Adelaide.
The in-form opener added 102 to his first-innings 145, the second time in 2014 that he has scored two tons in a Test, having notched 135 and 145 against South Africa in March.
David Warner now has 1,061 runs in seven Tests in 2014, with 6 centuries and 3 half-centuries.
David Warner was finally dismissed in the final session, bowled round his legs attempting a reverse sweep at Karn Sharma, but Australia went on the offensive in the closing stages.
Some late hitting from Steve Smith 52* and Mitchell Marsh (40 off 26 balls) helped Australia close the fourth day on 290/5 with a lead of 363

Virat Kohli slammed his second hundred of the first Test against Australia as India reached a dominant 237/2, chasing 364 to win at the Adelaide Oval (scored 115 Runs in the 1st innings)

Virat Kohli walked in to bat with India in a spot of bother. Cheteshwar Pujara had fallen to Nathan Lyon and the visitors were tottering at 57/2 when the India captain joined a solid Murali Vijay in the middle

Virat Kohli is the 4th Indian to score a century in each innings and the 7th instance of an Indian having scored twin tons. Vijay Hazare has done it once, Sunil Gavaskar achieved the feat three times while Rahul Dravid two hundreds in the same match twice. He is the first Indian to do it in Australia 

India was 205-2 tea, still needing 159 runs for victory. Vijay (85) and Kohli (82) batted through the second session and added 100 runs to the India total.
