FIFA lodges criminal complaint over World Cup hosting Tuesday Nov 18,2014

 

FIFA has submitted a 'criminal complaint' to Switzerland's attorney general after a two-year investigation into possible World Cup corruption.

The complaint concerns individuals linked to awarding the hosting rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. The subject of the criminal complaint is the possible misconduct of individual persons in connection with the awarding of the hosting rights of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups investigated by Michael Garcia, chairman of the investigatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee


However, Fifa said the move does not impact negatively on the decision to name Russia and Qatar as hosts.
