BJP President Amit Shah Announces His New Team of 11 VP's and 8 GS Saturday Aug 17,2014

Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Saturday reconstituted his core team. He has appointed former Karnataka chief minister and MP BS Yeddyurappa as one of the national vice presidents. Other senior leaders Bandaru Dattathreya and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi have also been appointed as vice presidents.

The announcement comes months before Assembly elections are scheduled in the states of Maharashtra, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.

In a surprising move, Shah has dropped BJP MP Varun Gandhi as national general secretary.

Two prominent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders Ram Madhav and Murlidhar Rao have also been made national general secretaries. RSS leaders from Karnataka BL Santhosh and V Sathish have also been made a joint general secretary of the BJP.

The new team of vice-presidents also include Satpal Mallik, Puroshottam Rupala, Prabhat Jha, Raghuvar Das, Kiran Maheswari, Vinay Sahastrabudhe, Renu Devi and Dinesh Sharma.

Other general secretaries are JP Nadda, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Saroj Pande, Bhupendra Yadav, Ramshankar Katheria and Ram Lal.

MJ Akbar, Nalin Kohli, Shahnawaz Hussain, Dr Sambit Patra, GVL Narasimha Rao have been made national spokespersons of the party. Other spokespersons are Meenakshi Lekhi, Sudhanshu Trivedi and Anil Baluni.
