Lt. General (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Singh Sworn In As Governor of Puducherry Thursday July 17,2014

Lt. General (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Singh, who was on Thursday July 17,2014 sworn in as the new Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, said that he looked forward to working in harmony with the Chief Minister and the government. “I feel honoured and humbled to be here,” said Mr. Singh shortly after being sworn in by the Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court Mr. Justice Satish K. Agnihotri at a ceremony held at the Raj Nivas.

The Union government had designated Lt. General (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Singh, Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, to hold the additional charge of Lt. Governor of Puducherry, following the removal of Virendra Kataria on July 11,2014
