Indian Parliament's Budget Session Begins Monday July 07,2014

A crucial month-long session of Parliament that will see the NDA government present its first Union Budget begins on Monday July 07,2014

The session will begin on July 7 and conclude on August 14,2014

The opening comes against the backdrop of a raging spat between the ruling BJP and Congress, over the latter's claim to the title of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
With the Opposition parties planning to take the government to task over its failure to control rising prices, the BJP has reached out to them to ensure that the session proceeds smoothly.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has convened a meeting of leaders of political parties in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Monday morning, saying the government "wants to take everyone along".
He said the government was not averse to discussing any issue in Parliament as long as it was approved by the chair.

The Budget Session started on a stormy note today with repeated adjournments of Lok Sabha

Little seemed to have changed in Parliament other than the seating arrangement - the BJP is now on the right of the Speaker, the Congress to the Left - as the Narendra Modi government's first Budget Session began today Monday July 07,2014

On day one Monday July 07,2014, the new NDA Govt confronted an Opposition united in its attack over the rising cost of essentials.
There was no Question Hour in either House as slogans drowned proceedings; a discussion began almost immediately in the Rajya Sabha, with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is also leader of the House, agreeing to Question Hour being set aside for the debate.
