India braces for the El Nino effect as forecaster calculates 60 % chance of drought

With monsoon rains at their lowest level in five years, private weather forecaster Skymet on Friday July 04,2014 pegged the probability of a drought in India at 60 % as experts said there was little chance of the monsoon picking pace this month.
